In the heart of Helsinki, local designers Isaac Jyväsjärvi and Aaro Angerpuro are reshaping conversations around body image with their handmade penis candles and soaps. Made from 100% vegan ingredients in small batches, these creations go beyond novelty to address deeper issues surrounding insecurities and body positivity.
Through their project, Giggeli, Isaac and Aaro seek to dismantle taboos and challenge societal views of the phallus, inviting openness and self-acceptance.
Inspired by history, such as the small-penised statues of ancient Greece and Rome that once represented ideal beauty, Isaac and Aaro aim to shift modern perceptions. By showcasing their bold designs in everyday living spaces, they hope to encourage conversations and foster a more inclusive and confident view of self-image.
Jere Candle: A Symbol of Body Positivity and Artful Vulnerability
The Jere Candle, priced at €28, is my favorite piece from the Giggeli Project. Handmade in Helsinki with 100% plant-based stearin and a cotton wick, this 11 cm candle strikes the perfect balance between playful and artful.
Unlike more explicit shapes, the Jere Candle has a soft, statue-like presence that symbolizes the idea that the penis is not just an object of power, but also one of vulnerability and calm.
Available in blue, pink, and green, it’s designed to promote body positivity and open conversation in a way that’s more thoughtful and less pornographic.
Their showroom at Vaasankatu 10, Helsinki, is open on Fridays from 17:00, welcoming visitors to explore and join the mission of celebrating all forms without judgment. Bring a touch of playful awareness to your home with a piece from Giggeli and be part of this empowering movement.
Go break taboos around the genitalia!
