What is Holafly eSIM?

Launched in 2017, Holafly specializes in offering unlimited data for both short-term and long-term trips. Travelers can choose from destination-specific plans or opt for regional and global bundles. Pricing starts at approximately $3.90 per day for unlimited data, with plans tailored to different regions such as Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America.

Holafly offers regional data bundles for regions like Europe (33 countries), Asia (16 countries), and Africa (29 countries) – it is a good option if you visit multiple destinations within the same region. For those traveling across continents, Holafly also provides global plans that cover 100+ countries. The global unlimited data plan costs around $64.90 per month.

The eSIM is activated via the Holafly app, which simplifies the process by providing a QR code for easy installation. Once activated, users can enjoy 4G/5G speeds in most destinations, ensuring stable and fast internet connections for tasks like navigating, messaging, and sharing content. Holafly also supports hotspot tethering, allowing you to share high speed internet with multiple devices while on the go.

Holafly’s flexibility is one of its standout features. It offers a money-back guarantee if the eSIM doesn’t work due to connectivity issues, and you can also top up your plan if you run out of data, ensuring you stay connected throughout your trip. The service is backed by 24/7 customer support, providing peace of mind for travelers who may encounter technical difficulties while abroad.

Holafly eSIM Pricing & Plans Explained

Holafly plans start at around $3.90 per day for unlimited data. While more expensive than its competitors’ limited plans, Holafly is one of the few e-SIM providers that primarily offers unlimited bundles. Hence the price difference.

Its regional bundles are also worth checking out if you’re traveling to more than one destination. There are over 25 regional plans to choose from, from Asia to Africa. Here’s an overview of the most popular bundles, giving you a flavor of what you can expect:

Region	Number of Countries	Data Offered	Price Per Day (from)
Africa	29	Unlimited	$9.90
Asia	16	Unlimited	$3.90
Europe	33	Unlimited	$3.90
North America	3	Unlimited	$6.90
Caribbean	18	Unlimited	$15.90
Central America	6	Unlimited	$9.90
Oceania	11	Unlimited	$3.90

If you’re a digital nomad or a frequent traveler to different destinations, one of Holafly’s global plans could work well for you. There are two: Unlimited and Light. They both include the following:

• Global connection (over 100 countries covered – check the T&Cs for specifics)

• Hotspot available

• Cancel anytime

• ‘Always on’ included (1GB of backup emergency data every 30 days at no extra cost)

The Unlimited plan also gives you a local phone number, which can be helpful if you need to make reservations or receive SMS wherever you travel. The main difference between the plans is that the Light plan gives you 25GB of data per month, while the Unlimited plan is, you guessed it, unlimited.

The table below shows the cost of each plan and the amount of data offered in each (if you sign up for a year, you’re eligible for a 22% discount on the prices below)

Plan	Amount of Data	Cost (Per Month)

You’ll earn at least 500 HolaCoins for every successful referral you make. Manage all referrals through the Holafly app on your smartphone.

Holafly alternatives: Airalo, Saily and Nomad compared

Holafly sells unlimited data by the day, so the comparison is about how you use your phone.

Light users pay less on per-GB plans from Airalo (from $4.50/GB, 15% off the first purchase with NEWTOAIRALO15) or Saily (from $3.99/GB with a built-in ad blocker);

Nomad is similar on price with a free 1GB trial and a particularly good app. Heavy users — streaming, maps all day, tethering a laptop — usually come out ahead on Holafly’s daily rate, and never watch a data meter.

The LOCALS code takes 5% off any Holafly plan; the others’ codes and offers are in our eSIM promo codes guide.

Our Verdict: Is Holafly Right for You?

Holafly is the go-to e-SIM for many travelers, and here’s why we think it might be right for you:

✅Most destination and regional plans from Holafly come with unlimited data, and it’s one of the only e-SIM companies to offer this level of coverage

✅Holafly also offers two global e-SIM bundles, priced from $49.90 to $64.90 for 25GB to unlimited monthly data

✅You can also use Holafly for short city breaks over the weekend – Holafly offers city-only plans from about $3.90 per day for unlimited data

Here’s why Holafly might not be the best option for you:

❌Compared to some other e-SIM providers, Holafly doesn’t have the best coverage, with only 112 countries available (150+ is the norm)

❌You don’t get minutes or texts in any Holafly bundle, as it’s a data-only e-SIM provider
