You might have thought the UAE’s first land-based casino would be in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. However, after pledging nearly $4 billion on their proposal, Wynn is looking forward to opening the doors to its luxurious casino resort in Ras Al-Khaimah sometime in 2027.

The RAK property will be bigger than the company’s signature Las Vegas hotel, with a proposed casino over 18,500 square meters. There will also be a five-star beachfront hotel on RAK’s Al Marjan island, about a one-hour drive from Downtown Dubai, consisting of approximately 1,500 rooms.

Though Wynn will be the first luxury casino resort in the UAE, it certainly won’t be the last. The Emirate’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority looks set to license other resorts in the coming years, signifying the UAE’s arrival in the casino market.

Hard Rock Las Vegas (Opening 2027) | Las Vegas, NV, USA

The iconic Hard Rock will soon return to Sin City after closing its doors in 2020. Its opening is targeted for the spring of 2027.

According to the current designs, the new Hard Rock will boast a 174,000-square-foot casino, up to 2,000 slot machines, and 212 tables.

But the signature will be the guitar shape of the hotel itself, which will contain 600 rooms. The Hard Rock is replacing the Mirage Hotel, which closed its doors in July 2024 following Hard Rock’s $1.08 billion acquisition.

There will be no better venue for music fans in Las Vegas than the brand-new Hard Rock Hotel, which will be the chain’s 15th hotel.

The new Danville Casino features 33 tables and 800 slot machines, while visitors can take advantage of offers via the popular Caesars Rewards program.

The excellent Three Stacks restaurant serves hearty American treats, while the on-site bars are stocked with signature cocktails, ice-cold beers, and top-shelf spirits.

The hotel opened its doors soon after, though the leisure deck facilities are still under construction. By mid-2025, the Star’s luxury retail avenue and other entertainment features will open.

The Star Casino is open 24/7 and overlooks Brisbane’s CBD and the river. There are blackjack, baccarat, roulette, and poker tables, while visitors can spin the reels on a wide selection of “pokies” (slot machines to non-Aussies) around the venue.

Dream will add 30,000 square feet of casino space to the Las Vegas landscape and a 531-room hotel with suites, multiple restaurants and bars, a nightclub, a pool, and a ballroom.

Located on the east side of Southern Las Vegas, the Dream will give the area a much-needed boost after the initially planned Paramount Resort fell through.

It’s the new kid on the block in Macau, but MGM Cotai has elbowed its way to the top of the tree. Bettors can play at 500 gaming tables and 1,400 slot machines in the stunning casino, while the extraordinary architecture of this unique structure is a sight to behold.

If a trip to Macau is on your gambling bucket list, MGM Cotai is the hotel you should stay at.

Developments to watch: Thailand, Vietnam, and South Korea

Bangkok could be home to a luxury casino resort by 2029
Bangkok could be home to a luxury casino resort by 2029

In the Fall of 2024, the Thai government announced plans to proceed with a new law that would permit land-based casinos to operate in the country for the first time.

Conservative estimates suggest that the Thai government could draw $5 billion in revenue annually from the casino market, with rumors of a “super casino” planned for Bangkok, with a 2029 target opening.

Since 2019, the Vietnamese government has been running a pilot program that permits locals to gamble in land-based casinos. The program’s success, which was scheduled to draw to a close at the end of 2024, will likely see the pilot extended to permit tourists to gamble in the country, too.

If so, Von Don, the site of Vietnam’s $2.1 billion integrated resort in the economic zone of Quang Ninh, will likely be developed into a luxury casino by the Sun Group. Thailand and Vietnam could, therefore, drive Southeast Asia’s development as a casino hotspot to rival Macau in the coming decades.

Elsewhere in Asia, the long-awaited opening of the delay-ridden Midan City Casino and Complex in Incheon could be on the horizon. Formerly Caesars Korea, the new casino will potentially open in 2025, offering another luxury destination for bettors on the continent.

Where will you visit first? Gamble in opulence in 2025 and beyond

From Macau to Ras Al-Khaimah, the world is your oyster when visiting new luxurious casino resorts. But where to choose?

The hype surrounding the return of the Hard Rock to the Las Vegas strip is hard to ignore, so plan for 2027 and schedule a stay in the guitar-shaped hotel. If you are in NJ, you can always bet and play casino games online; check out this HardRockBet casino promo review for more information.

Looking further afield, Wynn’s new casino in RAK, UAE, will be nothing short of extraordinary, bringing land-based gambling to the Middle East for the first time.

Wherever you end up, pack your tuxedo or evening dress and take to the tables for immersive gambling in these luxurious resorts.
