English capital beats off competition from likes of Manchester, Liverpool, and Newcastle in new survey by Locals Insider.

When it comes to the British public’s favorite destination for a stag or hen do, there’s no beating London, according to new research from LOCALS Insider.
In the survey of 2,000 UK adults, respondents were asked to select their top UK locations for a stag or hen party from a host of classic party destinations, with London’s myriad of options across the capital – from Soho to Shoreditch – proving the runaway choice across both categories, claiming 28.7% of the stag do vote and 20.7% of the hen do vote.
Manchester Takes Second Place
Manchester has long been a contender for the UK’s second city, and the northwest hotspot was next in line in the voting behind London in both categories. Boasting a wealth of party options including Canal Street and the Northern Quarter, Manchester landed 12.5% of the stag vote and 9.5% of the hen vote.
While the British public agreed when it came to their top two stag and hen destinations, their next choices were less unanimous.
Stag Do Favorites Beyond the Top Two
Newcastle is synonymous with a good night out and the northeast city was voted the third-best stag do location by the British public with 8.2%, while Liverpool’s much-loved nightlife saw it take fourth spot (6.7%), with Brighton’s south-coast party scene (4.5%) rounding off the top five.
Hen Do Alternatives Across the UK
In contrast, Liverpool was named the third best hen do location with 9.1% of the vote, with Brighton in fourth (6.8%) and Edinburgh’s vibrant offering completing the top five (5.6%).
As for the reasoning behind the British public’s typical choice for selecting a stag or hen do location, it was value that was considered most important in their decision-making.
What Matters Most When Choosing a Destination
Some 32.3% of the vote claimed the total cost was most important to them when selecting their location, with nightlife being the next most important factor with 11% of the vote and the weather following closely behind with 10.6%. Other factors that also came into consideration included quality of food (7.8%), range of daytime activity options (6.5%), transport links (3.9%) and the price of alcohol (2.8%).
While there may be an eclectic mix of options across the British Isles for us all to discover, it seems there’s no beating a good, old-fashioned night out in London, with our voters crowning the UK capital the ultimate destination for both stag and hen dos with 28.7% and 20.7% of the vote, respectively.
For those looking for something different, it’s Manchester that’s second best among the British public with the northwest city taking the runners-up spot across both categories, although the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool, Brighton and Edinburgh also proved popular.
Amsterdam voted the UK’s favorite overseas stag do destination; Ibiza is the top hen do location.
Stag and Hen Party Capitals Revealed & London Tops UK Rankings
While London was crowned the UK stag and hen capital, the new research from LOCALS Insider has shown that Amsterdam is the overseas stag do location most favored by Brits, with Ibiza the top hen do pick.
Amsterdam Leads for Stag Dos
Almost a fifth (19.4%) chose the Dutch capital as their preferred travel spot for a stag do. Similarly, the Balearic Island of Ibiza was crowned the number one choice for a hen do, with 13.6% of votes.
Behind Amsterdam in the stag do rankings was Dublin, which was given the thumbs up by 10.5% of respondents, with Benidorm, Berlin and Ibiza rounding out the top five.
More than 7% of respondents meanwhile said they would choose to stay in the UK, rather than picking up their passport for a trip overseas.
Ibiza Crowned Hen Do Favorite
Ibiza (13.6%) narrowly edged out Amsterdam (13.5%) as the most popular hen do spot, with Benidorm coming third (10%). Dublin came fourth, while there was a tie for fifth between Costa del Sol hotspot Marbella and Czech capital Prague, both picking up 5% of responses.
The 2,000 survey respondents were also asked whether they would accept an invite to an overseas stag do or hen do. 34.7% said they would decline an overseas stag do invite, with 38% saying they would decline an overseas hen do invite.
Not Everyone Says Yes to Overseas Invitations
Overseas stag and hen dos have become increasingly popular in recent years, with travelers lured to continental climbs to give their groom and bride a big send-off before their wedding day.
And of the 2,000 Brits in our nationwide survey, 19.4% chose Amsterdam as the number one stag do destination, ahead of Dublin, Benidorm, Berlin, and Ibiza.
Ibiza has a rich history as one of Europe’s best party destinations, so it was no surprise to see the Spanish island come out on top as the first-choice hen do location.
The White Island (13.6%) narrowly edged out Amsterdam (13.5%) with Benidorm and Dublin also ranking highly. Marbella and Prague could not be split in fifth place (5%).
And despite most respondents saying they would choose an overseas stag or hen do, rather than a UK one, still around one third of Brits said they would decline the invitation to jet off for an international stag or hen.
