The striking mid-century modernist former U.S. Embassy Chancery at 30 Grosvenor Square has undergone a meticulous, multi-year transformation, bringing Rosewood’s signature mix of heritage and modern luxury to the heart of Mayfair. The Chancery Rosewood Hotel marks Rosewood’s second London location, following the success of its Holborn property (and its acclaimed Pie Room), and sets a bold new standard for ultra-luxury in the city.
Originally designed by Eero Saarinen and reimagined by Sir David Chipperfield, the building’s Grade II-listed facade and its iconic bronze eagle sculpture have been carefully preserved, now framing the entrance to one of London’s most exclusive new hotels.

History Meets Hospitality at the Chancery Rosewood
The Chancery Rosewood Hotel’s 144 suites have the feel of a private residence—intimate spaces with wood paneling, marble finishes, and richly textured details that echo the aesthetics of a private members club. Alongside the suites, the property features a handful of houses, each offering views of London’s skyline, Mayfair, or Hyde Park.
The hotel will feature eight restaurants and bars, including the first European outpost of New York’s beloved Carbone, the revival of Le Caprice, and the 7th-floor Eagle Bar, named for the 30-foot-wide golden eagle that has watched over Grosvenor Square for more than half a century.
Wellness comes with a subterranean twist at the Asaya Spa, which includes a 25-meter indoor pool, hydro zone, five treatment rooms, and a collaboration with Knightsbridge’s Taktouk Clinic (its second location) offering customized cosmetic treatments.
Guests can also take advantage of chauffeured cars (available only to those paying full rates), an art concierge, and an impressive range of event spaces—from a grand ballroom to pavilion bars and a boardroom.
Room rates start at around $2,000 for a junior suite at the Chancery Rosewood Hotel, with flexible check-in and check-out times offered when available.
