Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

- Rooms from $658 per night (Beachfront Pool Villa with Breakfast)
- Book now
Opened in November 2004 as one of the world’s first Six Senses resorts, this property in Ninh Van Bay has earned its reputation as one of Vietnam’s most exclusive and luxurious vacation properties.
Accommodations are individual, handcrafted villas dotted around the property. Some cling to the mountainside, while others sit on the private beach. The villas have private plunge pools, open-plan living, in-house catering options, and incredible views across the East Vietnam Sea. Villas start at $658 per night, with breakfast included.

Executive Chef Tim Goddard is responsible for the sustainable menu and champions the resort’s “Eat with Six Senses” approach. All guests are offered on-site Vietnamese cooking classes ($126 for two hours), and the Alchemy Bar waiters offer a signature cocktail class.
Dining options include the intimate farm-to-table experience in the Farmhouse, Dining by the Bay with international and Vietnamese fusion dishes, or Dining by the Rocks for the best bay views and Oriental flavours.

As for activities, where do we start? The Six Sense Spa integrates treatments from different Asian countries, including Ayurvedic massages and Thai therapies. Yoga, sound meditation, and Tai Chi are also offered to guests, while the hotel can organise kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling, and diving in the bay.

“Excellent Experience – We Highly Recommend it: The staff was incredible, as was the property itself. Especially stunning is the view from the beach bar near the dock, which is the centre of the resort (I highly recommend the Pho drink suggested by the GM). Peter, US, Booking.com.
Banyan Tree Lang Cô, Thua Thien

- Rooms from $340 per night (Lagoon Pool Villa)
- Book now
Banyan Tree opened in 2013 as part of the integrated Laguna Lang Cô destination launch. It is operated by a Singapore-based hospitality group focusing on luxury and wellbeing.
Accommodations are bespoke villas with unique characteristics. Lagoon pool villas, sea view hill villas, and beachfront villas are offered year-round, while a wellness villa with amenities for mindful relaxation is also available.
All villas have private infinity pools, a concierge (a private host), and luxury interiors and finishes. The Lagoon Pool Villa, the most private of the sleeping quarters, starts at $340 per night, with no minimum stay required. In-villa dining with a private chef can be arranged on any night of the year.

Talented local and international chefs work across the four on-site restaurants. Saffron is the place to be for signature Thai fine dining, and ThaiSelect has commended the restaurant for its flavours and creative dishes. If you’re unsure what to order, the Saffron Signature Set Menu makes things easy. It features eight courses and costs 2,500,000 VND ($95) per person.
Elsewhere at the resort is the Water Court, an all-day dining restaurant focusing on Vietnamese cuisine and seafood. For something slightly different in this part of the world, the Azura restaurant is a beachfront eatery serving Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, including signature pizzas with an Oriental twist.
The nearby Laguna Golf Course, designed by major-winning British golfer Nick Faldo (around $150 green fee), is a short drive away, while the hotel can arrange cooking classes, surfing, paddleboarding, and other activities. Consider booking the Royal Banyan treatment, a Western and Eastern massage hybrid.

“Paradise in the Middle of Nowhere: We had the most amazing time at Banyan Tree in Vietnam. We did so many different activities and rented a three-bedroom villa overlooking the ocean that was spectacular. Our favorite part of the trip was our cooking class with Nho!” Ivonne & Flore, Miami, FL, TripAdvisor.
Anantara Mui Ne Resort, Ham Tien

- Rooms from $375 per night (One-Bedroom Pool Villa)
- Book now
Anantara Mui Ne Resort in Ham Tien has welcomed guests since the fall of 2011. It was the group’s first property in Vietnam, offering hotel rooms, villas, and suites with private pools.
Choose from 89 accommodations at Mui Ne, situated 2.5 hours from Ho Chi Minh City, for the ideal city escape. We highly recommend the pool villas, hidden away within the resort’s lush gardens, with private staff on hand.

Executive chef Chanh Huynh creates the dishes served in the resort’s signature restaurant, L’Anmien. He’s achieved an exotic blend of Asian delicacies and Vietnamese street food, and this is one of the best places in the country to experience freshly made Vietnamese tapas paired with wine flights from Australia and other parts of the world.
The Flow Bar and Cham Lounge serve cocktails and draft Vietnamese beer, while a fully-stocked wine cellar brings you grapes from Europe, Oceania, and Africa.

If you rent a villa, organise in-room dining and request a bespoke menu for your group; one of the most impressive signature services offered at Mui Ne.
For hands-on activities during your stay, participate in Spice Spoons by Anantara to learn about Vietnamese cuisine and cooking techniques, or play golf at the nearby Sea Links Golf Course with spectacular ocean views – green fees start at 1,700,000 VND ($65).

“Beautiful Hotel & Wonderful Staff: The pool is a lovely temperature, extremely clean, and the swim-up bar is a nice way to relax and enjoy the stunning views. While we were here, there was a New Year’s party which the staff made a huge effort to make a great evening. Bringing in the New Year with the sand between our toes, a bonfire, and fireworks on the beach was really special.” Rachel H, UK, TripAdvisor.
