“This is one of my favorite places at the moment. I had a spa day at The Athenaeum Hotel and I loved it. The ambience was great, the food tasted great, the cocktails were on point, and the body wrap, facial, and spa treatments were so relaxing. You need to try it out. The best part was how nice and welcoming the staff were. I love this hotel.” Frieda D. N, Google.

Banya No.1

banya 1 London
gobanya.co.uk

Banya No.1 proudly sets itself apart from ordinary spas and is a full sensory ritual rooted in age-old tradition. The whole experience centers around the rejuvenating cycle of hot, cold, rest, repeat. Banya refers to a traditional Russian steam bath, similar to a sauna but far more immersive.

Hot and cold contrast therapy comes with plenty of benefits: mental clarity, immune support, and better cardiovascular health, to name a few. But a standout perk for fellow travelers is that it can help with the dreaded jet lag. Adjusting your core body temperature promotes deeper, more restful sleep.

Several spa packages are available, starting at just $99 per person if you book off-peak. For this experience, you’ll enjoy a Parenie thermal treatment. If you’re unfamiliar with the Parenie Ritual, it’s a thermal treatment with leafy oak twigs that work the steam around you, followed by cold water exposure.

You can choose an individual package. For example, Golden one includes 3 hours in a public banya, parenye, coffee&salt scrub, massage, mud mask, private booth, and tea – for about £155).

There are two of these spas in the city, one in Chiswick and the other in Hoxton, as well as a third spa, a little further away in Tbilisi, Georgia. London’s locations are close to London tube stations, trendy bars, and restaurants, but you can enjoy amazing food at each location, including the very popular salt-cured salmon at $13.

If you book from Monday to Thursday, you can enjoy the spa’s facilities for $259 per person, plus indulge in a Sundãri massage or facial. For the most quintessential British experience, you might opt for the Royal Treats Spa Day package at $352 per person, where you can feast on afternoon tea and a glass of champagne after your Sundãri massage or facial and time at the spa.

London’s location stands apart. This setting dates back to the 18th century and later became home to Peter Pan’s author, J.M. Barrie, and we can’t help but wonder if Peter and Wendy would have flown across this very rooftop. There’s even a first edition of the book in the reception.

Minutes away from Covent Garden, this tranquil spot is the perfect place to unwind after shopping or to reflect on the West End’s magic.

The AIRE experience guides guests by candlelight, as orange blossom scents fill the air and the only sound is the gentle flow of water. $140 will give you access to the six thermal baths, including hot and cold baths, salt baths, and a ‘bath of a thousand jets’. Plus, you’ll receive a glass of fizz and chocolate treats. Some offers include a 30-minute massage and thermal bath access.

Depending on your budget, you can also try other experiences that include a treatment on top of the thermal baths, such as their newest Argan Foam Ritual at $359. This includes a massage on hot marble beds and a body massage for hydration and elasticity.
